On
a road to nowhere,
heartache was my only true companion.
With no one to turn to, the loneliness
had settled in the state.
Pathways of deception,
bright lights leading down to empty canyons,
but I knew there had to be another way.
Then I met an old man,
it seems that I had known this man forever.
Well my heart was heavy,
so I told him all about my grief and pain.
As we were talking,
his eyes they held a love I couldn't measure.
And his heart was full of joy and I said,
what makes you this way?
And I heard him say,
I've got love
that's everlasting.
I've got love
that never dies.
It's a love that even you can have,
just open up the door.
It's a love that keeps on giving more and more.
He started talking about a savior who
could heal my broken spirit,
give me life eternal,
and cast my sins into the deepest sea.
Just ask forgiveness,
be true to what you say
and he will hear it.
Son, he's the only one you'll ever need.
So I started praying,
I finally realized I was a sinner.
In faith believing,
I asked this man called Jesus to come in.
He so overcame me,
for the first time in my life I was a winner.
Thanks to God's sweet grace,
another soul was saved today.
And I now can say, I've got love
that's everlasting.
I've got love that never dies.
