You know those nights that aren't planned?
Like you rush home from work,
shower,
eat,
make up,
jam to your tunes,
have a drink,
get a little waved.
I'm running late but I still have time.
Take some pictures, walk fast, music's blasting,
bump into an old school friend,
tap my card, elevate a train,
before it stops at the Hackney Wick.
We meet outside colours,
we have a drink on the canal,
the sun's just set.
It's 10pm.
Pink's turned to dark blue to grey and glow.
The marina is reflecting on pretty on the water.
We're looking so fit.
We pull it dressing down.
We're just wearing as little clothes as possible.
I wrap my coat round your shoulders.
There's this mad energy in East tonight.
Why does the city get me so well?
That's when we head to the warehouse.
I
hear the bass, the music and I succumb.
We drink and we dance and then we just have
that * good time.
And then there's this other party,
back to her friends just down
the canal.
She lives off my old street in Bow,
three minutes from Vicky Park.
We break
into the park and we just run.
And I'm laughing so hard that I fall to the floor.
You lay
next to me and I start to trip.
The stars, they're moulding into spaceships,
like aliens
snogging in the cloud.
It's sexy.
It's so hot, we start to kiss.
Your lips feel so good.
And I remember we've got another party so we're back.
