Well anyway we'd like to do this song
about my first trip to Sydney with my dad.
I was
gonna dress up in all the stockman gear with
the laughing side boots the elastic side boots
and dad said if you dress up like that they'll
call us bushkaloots so I had to dress like
a civilian and buy a brand new pair of flat
heeled lace up shoes that was back in 1943.
So here's the story about that very memorable
trip with dad so I just naturally called it
lace up shoes.
